PDF-file (141.3 Kb)Aviation Gearboxes and Transmissions – Perm Motors JSC (Reductor – PM JSC) was established on August 31, 1995 on the basis of Perm Engines JSC gearbox production en-terprise. Today it is one of the largest gear- box and transmission manufacturers in Russia.
On October 6, 1951 Perm aviation plant was assigned to begin the preparatory work for the series production of the R-5 gearbox for the
Mi-4 helicopter. This date is considered now as the day when the gearbox production of Russia was founded.
At present the company produces, repairs and provides maintenance for:
- VR-8A, VR-14, VR-26 and VR-34 main gearboxes for the Mi-helicopter family (Mi-8, Mi-8MTV, Mi-14, Mi-17, Mi-26 and Mi-34);
- R-25/R-45 and R-1,6-1500 gearboxes for PAES-2500M/4500M and PAES-1500 trans-portable power stations.
In the short-run perspective it is planned to develop the series production of gearboxes for the Ansat and Mi-28N helicopters.
The firm takes particular pride in the fact that it was here where the VR-26 gearbox for the Mi-26 super heavy helicopter was created. It is the world-only serial gearbox to transmit the power more than 20000 hp.
Besides, the company produces gearboxes and other components for PS-90A, D-30 and TV2-117A aviation engines.
Reductor – PM JSC works in close cooperation with well-known aircraft designers, such as Mil company, Klimov corporation, Moscow Aeromechanika company, Aviadvigatel JSC. The main helicopter producers (Kazan Helicopters JSC, Rostvertol JSC, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant JSC) are among its regular partners, too.
The company’s customer support service provides gearbox service during warranty period, as well as post-guarantee maintenance.
The company delivers spare parts and equipment to the enterprises both in Russia and abroad. It also has its service centres abroad.
The high precision technologies for manufacturing a broad spectrum of light alloy gear-wheels and base members have been developed for decades.
Now they make up the basis of the company’s success. The enterprise gained a wealth of experience in manufacturing highly-reliable gears. So its pro-
ducts are in great demand both in Russian and foreign aviation markets.
To provide the high quality of production, Reductor – PM JSC constantly modernizes its manufacturing technologies, replenishes its equipment stock with modern high-precision lathes and measuring machines made by Gleason, Reishauer, Olivetti, Klingenberg Oerlikon companies, which are well known all over the world. In 2001 a unique fifth-generation OPAL-80 gear-grinding machine for high quality gear-wheel production lines was put into
operation.
The gearboxes’ high reliability, proved by long-run tests, allows to extend the overhaul period of BR-14 main helicopter gearboxes (104 series) to 4000
hours. The specified life for BR-14 main helicopter gearboxes (104 series) is 4000 hours now.
The company has all the necessary licenses for production, development, overhaul and guarantee service, as well as for the operation follow-on of helicopter gearboxes, transmissions and components of aviation and gasturbine engines.
The company’s quality control system is specified according to the GOST R ISO 9002-96 and SRPP VT standards. The documented planning, internal and external audit procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of this system were developed and are carried out.
The quality policy regulates the activities of all the enterprise departments to control the safety and reliability of production, as well as to keep delivery terms.
